I believe I bring to this business a true sense of hospitality, a passion for making things beautiful and the organizational skills to keep everything on track and running smoothly.  The most important thing when dealing with guests is remaining personable, really listening and letting the guest leave feeling as though they were heard and treated well. In the hospitality business, I feel it is important for me to bring this concept both to the renters as well as the owners. I want each owner to feel as though we have a strong relationship, that they know I am looking out for their property and their best interests.  I want each guest to feel the personal touches and graciousness of our hotel.

Aided by the front desk staff, cleaning crews and maintenance department, Gina leads the team in maintaining quality control of all aspects of our hotel and vacation properties, from linens and cleanliness to adequate inventory and functionality to ensure the best guest experience possible.  All with hospitality in mind!

We’ve only scratched the surface.  Macy has been employed with Gorge Living, Inc. since 2000.  She has helped build from scratch the property management division in 2001 and assisted with the transformation and growth of the Oak Street Hotel when it was purchased in 2002.

Macy handles much of the administrative, accounting and advertising duties for both the long term and vacation rental departments.  Macy is in charge of all forms of accounts payable and accounts receivable: collecting rents, paying utilities and maintenance invoices, remittance of city, county and state taxes and balancing accounts.  She maintains the company’s websites and other Internet marketing as well as assists in print marketing.

Progress and success we have!  The (ad)venture began to unfold in 1994 when Denise McCravey and her husband Mike opened RE/MAX Results, Inc. REALTORS, a real estate office dedicated to serving clients throughout the Columbia River Gorge.

The natural next step of growth was to compliment the real estate business with property management services in 2001.  Gorge Rentals Property Management team consists of a knowledgeable staff to assist owners and tenants with vacation and long term rentals, cleaning, landscape and maintenance services.

Serendipity began the next phase of growth when the McCraveys purchased the 1909 Oak Street Hotel in the summer of  2002.  The Hotel became home to real estate and property management offices as well as boutique hotel accommodations in downtown Hood River.  Expanding the inventory to include vacation homes throughout the Gorge seemed a natural fit.

In 2009, the RE/MAX franchise was not renewed.  The family of businesses had grown and developed a new identity in real estate, property management and lodging.  The real estate division became the Gorge Property Real Estate Team. A focused dedicated small team of licensed agents offering the highest service to their clients.

As the family of business continues to progress, the strong team Denise has assembled will no doubt continue to succeed.


We care. Our front desk staff is the front line of our business.  As staff of both the Oak Street Hotel and Vacation Rentals, they are on site seven days a week to personally greet and assist guests during their stay. From the point of check in to check out the reservations desk is available to answer questions about home or hotel room, provide restaurant recommendations, offer suggestions on things to do or just give general information about the area.  A satisfying and pleasant experience is our utmost concern.




Nothing is impossible for our crew.  Our cleaning staff consists of full time, experienced cleaners.  Each team leader has worked for a 5-star hotel and knows quality and a quick pace.  They take pride in creating a sparkling home with crisp linens and a lemony smell.  Each team is trained to spot damage and recognize abnormality in every property they enter seeing to it each unit is fully functional and in good repair for each guest.

Each member of the cleaning staff is required to have a background screening upon accepting employment for the safety and security of the guest and personal belongings.


James Ralph, Maintenance

And that’s why we’re here.  Jim has been a contractor since 1996 and has worked on many projects, large and small.  Locally, he was the Construction Foreman for the building of Horizon Christian School from 2004-2009.  He has a well-rounded knowledge of all stages of construction and maintenance, which allows him to see the bigger picture in addressing all types of major and minor repairs.  Jim came to work for Gorge Rentals in 2009 and has brought with him a quality and craftsmanship we are proud to share.

Let us do the dirty work. Since 2009 we have employed a full time, year round groundskeeper to do that dirty work for you.  Antonio not only does regular yard maintenance of mowing, edging, and weeding but can also take care of specialized needs such as fertilizing, pruning, and laying bark.  He often helps in gutter cleaning, painting and minor maintenance needs.

Previously, Antonio was the lead groundskeeper for the Columbia Gorge Hotel’s elaborate gardens for over 14 years.
